Jackstraws Day of Dance 2000
The day dawned bright and sunny, and Jackstraws and their guest for the day headed for the town of Farnham for our Anual Day of Dance. This year's guests were
Fleet Ladies
Hurst Morris People
Insword
Hart & Sole
The day started by dancing at the Farnham Castle Flower Festival, and the organisers very kindly allowed us to park our cars in their carpark for the day.
The choice of grass or gravel to dance on made our hearts sink, but Hart and Sole (North-West) didn't have a side for that spot and Insword (Rapper) were very gracious about it. We all imagined their perfect stepping as they
rustled on the grassy surface. A brief walk down the hill brought us to the first pub, the Nelson Arms on Castle Street, where we enjoyed a wonderful welcome.
Lunch was a very welcome mound of sandwiches and chips at the Hop Blossom in Long Garden Walk
And the day was rounded off by a Bar-B-Que at Rob and Maggie's.
